Eco Chic, Towards Sustainable Swedish Fashion Exhibit at Scandinavia House, NYC

Last night I attended the gallery opening/reception of Eco Chic, Towards Sustainable Swedish Fashion.  The event took place at the Scandinavia House on Park and 38th in NYC.  After a discussion, to which I luckily got into, because they closed the RSVP by the time I wanted to RSVP, people were invited to view the exhibit which showcased Swedish fashion designers.  These works utilized environmentally friendly methods, with an ethical approach, without sacrificing the creativity of the aesthetic fashion eye.

Below are the clothes that were on exhibit.  Its a small show, so you can finish the show fairly quickly.

The exhibition viewing included a reception as well, which included an abundance of fashionable people.  Sadly I only got a few due to my shyness.

Photographer, Painter, Blogger, Louise Ingalls Sturges (www.louiseingallssturges.com)

I must admit the focus on the 5D Mark 2 with my 28mm (non L-Series) does not fare well for full length in low light, without a flash.  There wasn’t much I could do, since I didn’t bring my flash,  so I had to pump up the ISO.  Fortunately, at 1000, the noise level is farely minmal.

Close-up, my 28mm lens works fairly well.  DOF was an issue as you can see her far hand is really out of focus.

Great shoes.

I love these!

Providing musical entertainment was Markus Görsch (of Love is All) and Gary Olson (of Ladybug Transistor & Marlborough Farms)
